‘Silent Hills’ Might Be Coming To PlayStation 5, Along With ‘Metal Gear Solid’

It has been reported at Gamerant that the scrapped Silent Hills, teased so expertly by the PS4-exclusive underwear-stainer P.T., could yet come to PlayStation 5.

The report quotes someone called ‘Moore’s Law Is Dead’, a YouTuber who in the past predicted that 2018’s God of War would get a sequel (I mean, duh?). The YouTuber reckons they can “almost confirm” the existence of the Kojima Productions-developed Silent Hills as a PS5 exclusive – and that the game will be revealed as part of The Game Awards on December 11th.

We all know that the main man at Kojima Productions, Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima, is good friends with The Game Awards’ founder and producer Geoff Keighley, so there’s no doubt whatsoever that if a Silent Hills reveal is coming, December 11th seems as good a time as any. Originally, the horror game was a co-directed project, with Kojima working alongside movie-maker Guillermo del Toro, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s still attached to the game – assuming it happens at all.

The same rumour-slinger, ol’ Moore’s Law there, adds in the Gamerant report – which lifts its information from a podcast, Broken Silicon – that a Bluepoint Games remake of another Konami game, Metal Gear Solid, is also in the works. Apparently, the Metal Gear Solid remake’s been in the works for a while, too – since 2017, and with cooperation from the PS5’s system architect Mark Cerny, no less.
